How it works
-
Call us early
Before the walls are open is the best time. Bring your plan or your contractor's.
-
We walk the layout
We look at where everything is going and flag anything that will cost more or cause trouble later.
-
You get one price
A flat price for the plan. If the plan changes, the change is quoted before we move anything.
-
We rough in and finish
Lines in the walls, then fixtures in, then every line tested.
What our job records show
15
Kitchen, bathroom and laundry remodel jobs since November 2025.
Those run from Larkspur and Fairfax to Woodacre and Nicasio. In San Anselmo this April, a kitchen remodel meant a new dishwasher with an air gap, a garbage disposal, an ice maker valve box with an air chamber, and a new kitchen faucet.
Glenn spent five years as a carpenter before he became a plumber. On a remodel that matters, because he knows what's behind your walls and how the framing will be affected before anything gets cut.

Who does the work

Glenn Lopes
Owner and C36 license holder. Started Big Island Plumbing in 2017 after five years as a carpenter and a six month UPC code course. Remodel layout is one of the things he's best at, and he works with a short list of general contractors he trusts.

Questions we get asked
Do you work with my general contractor?
Yes, and we prefer it. We coordinate timing with your GC so the rough-in, inspection and finish work happen in the right order. If you don't have a GC yet, call us and we'll talk it through.
Can I pick my own fixtures?
Yes. Faucets, sinks, toilets and shower trim are your call. We'd steer you to a plumbing supply house instead of a big box store, because the same model is often built differently. Anything that goes inside the wall, we supply.
What happens if we change the layout halfway through?
We quote the change before we move anything, so there are no surprises on the final bill. The earlier a change happens, the less it costs.
Do you do laundry rooms too?
Yes. We've installed laundry boxes, utility sinks and new supply and drain lines for laundry remodels.
How much does remodel plumbing cost?
It depends on how much is moving. Swapping fixtures in place costs far less than moving a sink or a toilet to a new wall. We walk the plan and give you one flat price before we start.
Are you licensed?
Yes. Big Island Plumbing holds California C36 plumbing contractor license #1090862. You can verify it on the Contractors State License Board site.
